We highly recommend you to visit the DDR Museum, which documents life in Eastern Germay after WW II. On display are old "Trabi" cars as well as traditional kitchen equipment that was used in the GDR.

Nikolai Quarter

The Nikolai Quarter (Nikiolaiviertel), built between 1981 and 1989, is a traditional Berlin island around the Nikolaikirche, the city's oldest parish church. Between reconstructed historical buildings and modern apartment buildings, numerous restaurants, cafés and shops invite for a stroll and some shopping. Among the quarter's most notable sights are the museums Ephraim-Palais and Garlic House ("Knoblauchhaus"), as well as the restaurants "Gaststätte zum Nußbaum" (Restaurant by the Walnut Tree) and the reconstructed "Gerichtslaube" (Court Pergola) at the medieval city hall.
